Research Guides

The BC Archives has created a number of guides to assist you in identifying and locating records relevant to your research.  Some deal with types of records (e.g. vital events, lands).  Others deal with particular subjects or topics (e.g. First Nations).  Use our Research Orientation Guide for a general introduction and overview.

The guides listed here can be downloaded in PDF format or viewed as HTML files.  Hard copies are also available in our Reference Room.
