Family TYRANNIDAE: Tyrant Flycatchers
Dusky Flycatcher (Empidonax oberholseri)
FIELD MARKS
This bird looks very similar to Hammond's Flycatchers. One difference to
look for is that their underparts are paler and less uniform than the Hammond's
Flycatcher. Approximate length: 13 cm
HABITAT
These birds prefer the middle elevations in the mountains. They prefer the
drier surroundings of open stands of tall bushes and deciduous trees.
NESTING
Most of their nests are in deciduous shrubs in upright forks among dense
vegetation. The female lays 2-4 dull white eggs that sometimes have brown
spots.
