Planning for 100 years

In 2008, the Royal BC Museum published its vision for the future. This vision lays the groundwork for the next 15 years and maps out our goals for revitalizing our physical plant, galleries, programs and visitor experience.

Our vision is about reaching our full potential as a museum and archives – provincially, nationally and internationally. We have three goals:
  1. to become BC’s leading cultural centre dedicated to preserving the province’s identity, collective memory, history and heritage;
  2. to become a landmark physical site, province-wide resource and virtual environment; and
  3. to further the reputation as one of the preeminent cultural museums and archives in the world.
Stimulating debate and discussion, bridging cultures and engaging generations, opening minds and enriching lives – these ideals guide our future development.
