The New Royal BC Museum Corporation
There will now be six core business areas. The directors of these areas and the CEO will comprise the Museum's executive team. Following is a breakdown of the new business model and the rationale behind the functional grouping:


Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of 11 members who have strong skills, knowledge and ability to provide leadership to the Chief Executive Officer in matters relating to governing the Royal BC Museum Corporation. The Board of Directors approves the business plan and annual report, reviews financial matters and supports fundraising initiatives.

The CEO reports to the Board of Directors for the Royal BC Museum Corporation. She manages the day-to-day business affairs of the Corporation and is responsible for developing the business plan, managing the financial health of the organization and ensuring that the RBCM's mission and business goals are successfully achieved.

All the curatorial, collection management and conservation functions are now grouped in one business area. This realignment streamlines the responsibility for the management and preservation of all our collections - natural, human history and archival - ensuring close collaboration and direction. This area will also oversee the Native Plant Garden, research, and collections development.

The access to the corporation's complete holdings - electronic images, paper, artifacts or specimens - will be grouped in this business area.
