Departments The New Royal BC Museum
Corporation Board of Directors The Board of Directors consists of 11 members who have strong skills, knowledge and ability to provide leadership to the Chief Executive Officer in matters relating to governing the Royal BC Museum Corporation. The Board of Directors approves the business plan and annual report, reviews financial matters and supports fundraising initiatives. Chief Executive Officer The CEO reports to the Board of Directors for the Royal BC Museum Corporation. She manages the day-to-day business affairs of the Corporation and is responsible for developing the business plan, managing the financial health of the organization and ensuring that the RBCM's mission and business goals are successfully achieved. 2004/2005 - 2006/2007 Curatorial
Services All the curatorial, collection management and conservation functions are now grouped in one business area. This realignment streamlines the responsibility for the management and preservation of all our collections - natural, human history and archival - ensuring close collaboration and direction. This area will also oversee the Native Plant Garden, research, and collections development. Branches: Image Collections Exhibits All aspects of public program production, planning, designing and constructing our exhibits and attractions throughout the precinct have been grouped in this area. This integration will help enchance the visitor experience. Our accomplished exhibits team can apply their skills to developing and maintaining all internal and external exhibit areas throughout the precinct. Branches: Visitor and Human Resource
Services All functions that provide our external and internal clients with first-class customer service have been aligned in this business area. Responsibility for human resources, admissions and group sales, volunteer services, gallery rentals, main reception, facilities and security have been brought together. and Information Management The access to the corporation's complete holdings - electronic images, paper, artifacts or specimens - will be grouped in this business area. This area will also oversee on-line and off-line public access to our collections - natural, human history, and archival. Imaging and audio/visual functions that support the delivery of this important corporate mandate have also been grouped in this area. Branches: Projects Marketing and
Communications Marketing, corporate communications, media relations, publications and graphic design functions have been grouped under this area to provide better synergy when it comes to planning and executing campaigns to increase visitor attendance at the museum and special events.
