Bring stories and voices of the LGBTQ+ community to the Royal BC Museum. 

Activities include: 

 Persi Flage and Henrietta Dubet , Mr & Ms. Gay Vancouver Island 2016 talk about - and show us - the ins and outs of Drag Culture in 2017

 "Coronation Drag Ball"  - a radio feature by Saralee James (1980) BC Archives T4303:0261 about Drag Culture in Vancouver in the 1980s

Live music by the Klezbians -  a band of unruly, chutzpah-licious musicians from the Isle of Klezbos (aka Victoria).

Museum Gay History Hack – add missing stories of the LGBTQ+ community to our Century Hall exhbition for the night.

A Gay Guide –  BC Archives nwp301.415G797g. View a copy of this pamphlet from 1970 produced by an anonymous gay man in Vancouver to help gays in BC date, mate and relate . You can also update the appendix of the guide listings.

Please note that Museum Happy Hour events are limited to designated galleries and are not museum-wide. This event takes place in the Becoming BC gallery on the third floor.
