Whether it's your biological family or family of choice, things aren't always easy or straightforward. This participatory discussion series tackles perspectives and definitions, upending assumptions to help us better understand ourselves and our family roles. An intriguing mix of facilitators will get the conversation started, but where it goes from there is up to you.

What do we need to know when it comes to adoption, divorce and other legal matters concerning the family? Join a panel of community members assembled to spark discussion about different types of families and resources for families either breaking up or coming together.  The panelists include:  Gurinder Bains, Associate Lawyer, Hart Legal; Harold Hejazi, Artist and Educator; Brett Pulak, Victoria Justice Action Centre; and Genevieve Weber, Archivist, BC Archives.

The discussion will take place in Helmcken House Historic Site located in Thunderbird Park on the grounds of the Royal BC Museum.
