NatureSketch: Art and Science Camp

NatureSketch camp is an outdoor nature camp for kids that focuses on sketching and observing wildlife habitats in unique ecosystems. This program encourages children to connect to natural environments in their local community using a pencil and a sketchbook. We will be exploring natural environments within walking distance of the The Robert Bateman Gallery & Royal BC Museum, including Beacon Hill Park, the Inner Harbour and Fisherman's Wharf. Campers will look closely and sketch natural history specimens within the Royal BC Museum collection, and make connections between the biodiversity wonders both within and beyond the museum. By the end of the week, campers will create and curate a mini-display of their work within the Royal BC Museum Natural History gallery.

This is a collaboratively run camp. The morning portion of the camp will be facilitated by The Robert Bateman Centre staff, and the afternoon portion will be facilitated by the Royal BC Museum staff.
