Bird from a Coast Salish (Songhees) Pole, 1912
Carver: William Clallam

This ‘pole’ was constructed for Thunderbird Park by taking an Eagle figure from the top of a large pole with many figures (made by William Clallam of Port Angeles, Washington, for a member of the Songhees First Nation) and placing it on an uncarved wooden column. The rest of Clallam’s pole stood beside it in Thunderbird Park.
