Shipper / Receiver

The Property Management and Site Development Department has a great opportunity as a Shipper/Receiver.  The Shipper/Receiver provides daily shipping and receiving duties for the organization (including an off-site collections building) and on-site partners, including sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail and large shipments, delivery of goods and materials, maintaining loading dock area and stock room, processing invoices, purchasing and disposal of supplies and assets, minor equipment and furniture installation and repairs, and the knowledge and understanding to coordinate the transportation of dangerous goods.  This position is responsible for gathering, organizing, tracking data and preparing documents for Carbon Neutral Action, greenhouse gas or other recycling requirements.

The incumbent must have a solid understanding of facilities operations and maintenance and office support services operations in unique setting that includes a high volume public access building (up to one million visitors a year) and a series of specialized restricted access or standard office buildings.

Along with a high school diploma, the ideal candidate has experience in an administrative capacity and a good understanding of both the purchasing processes and safety regulations around the use of hazardous substances commonly found in facilities management and museum settings.  You understand warehouse and logistic functions and have an understanding of the ARCS/ORCS records management system.  As a service provider, you have the ability to work under pressure while ensuring quality and accuracy.
