Family History (Genealogy)

The BC Archives holds many records that can help you learn your family’s story. We have records and publications from court registries, government agencies, as well as private individuals, families and institutions that may contain information about your family members or the communities where they lived.

To help you with your genealogical research, we’ve created guides to help direct you to resources available at the BC Archives as well as at other institutions. Indigenous genealogical research can be more complex, so we’ve created separate, more detailed guides for this type of research.
