Wonder Sunday at Quality Foods in View Royal

This month’s outreach Wonder Sunday is taking place at the new Quality Foods store in View Royal, for an exploration of creating and making your own museum (with a food theme). You’ll discover ways of curating, displaying and communicating information that are fun and playful.

Activities:

One Hundred Course Meal: We’ve got a big appetite; what dish do you think belongs on our massive menu? Add your favourite recipe or wackiest culinary creation to this mammoth-sized feast.

Button-making: To begin your inquiry into food production and consumption, create your own unique button with a food-themed design of your choosing.

Where Did It Come From?: Which country produces the most apples each year? How many varieties of cucumbers are grown? The answers may surprise you. Uncover the origins of our food through hands-on interactives, a trivia quiz, and a “Which is Local?” vote.

Food as Artifact: “Produce of Vancouver Island,” “It’s Not Easy Being Greens,” “PB & J Dissected” – what food-themed exhibition would you design? Play the part of museum professional and curate, display, and label the yummiest artifacts from the grocery store.

And don’t miss our Species at Risk traveling exhibition during your visit. The trailer will be in the Quality Foods parking lot on display.
