Find out what’s happening at the museum and archives in these monthly talks featuring curators, staff and researchers. Lectures are held on the first Wednesday of each month.
What can a bottle of Insectoblitz, a gooey stack of glass plate negatives and a live bullet tell us about archives? In this presentation researchers Dr.Trudi Lynn Smith and Dr. Kate Hennessy show photographs and video that emerged from our collaboration with archivists, conservators and preservation managers at the BC Archives. Our visual work shows the anarchival force of molecular transformation, displacement, and other human and non-human interactions as they render archival material fugitive.
